The African Music Industry Awards is here to award and honour hardworking African Creative Content Producers (Musicians, Producers et al). Their goal is to bridge the gap between Africa and the Western world with authentic promotion and digital distribution.

 In view of that they have released the nominations for this year's awards and featuring very strongly in the dancehall genre are three top Ghanaian acts Stonebwoy,Shatta Wale and Samini.

 Stonebwoy was nominated for his "hero" song,Shatta Wale for "nobody go talk" and Samini for "morning dose" featuring Kofi Baafi.

I Was Star-struck When I Met Ofori Amponsah,Not Jay Z-Joey B

Joey B,speaking on Hitz FM concerning the topic of music sampling said he really likes Ofori Amponsah music explaining why he sampled his songs for his hits "otoolege" and "sweetie pie" ft King Promise. He went further to state that he was star-struck when he met Ofori Amponsah face-to-face but same couldn't be said when he met Jay Z at Roc Nation in the US.
