Fancy Gadam speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM threw jabs at people who said he didn't deserve the award for "song of the year" To quote him,he said "if you no go gree,go die". Further asked what he would have felt if he didn't win,he said he would have felt cheated because he has strong faith in his fanbase and can't doubt their loyalty. However,he is set to be interviewed on the BBC today hence cutting short the interview. 

The VGMAs concluded some minutes ago at the Accra International Conference Centre and generally we think the award winners deserved what they won. There cannot be an award show without performances;Sarkodie,King Promise,Kidi,Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene,Tiwa Savage,Nasty C et al  were on hand to wow the audience. However,pick of the musical performances was the Ebony tribute by Mzvee,Akosua Adjapong,Adina and Efya which got Ebony's mum shedding tears.We say R.I.P one more time. Moesha Bodoung,the name on the lips of many Ghanaians this week has finally taken to instagram to apologize for her utterances made on an interview with Christiane Amanpour. Below is what she wrote on instagram; Dear gh this is Moesha. I have been humbled by all that is going on and I have also learnt a lot in the last few days since the CNN video came out. I have had a lot of time to think and reflect and I APOLOGIZE TO ALL, ESPECIALLY MY AFRICAN SISTERS. I pray u all find it in your hearts to forgive me. It was definitely not my intention to offend any of you. I respect all the hard working women of our beloved country and accept that some of my utterances were not a reflection of what happens in most homes. GOD works in mysterious ways and everything happens because he says so. Thanks for the love, pieces of advice and criticisms. GOD bless us all! Award winning South African rapper,Cassper Nyovest who is currently in Ghana to work with some Ghanaian acts and make himself known more to Ghanaians described Stonebwoy as his favourite dancehall act in Africa. In his words, "Stonebwoy is my favourite dancehall artiste in Africa. I have read about Shatta Wale but I don't know his music.I would be glad to work with him". He had high praise for Sarkodie too describing him as an amazing talent,one that has a lot of his music in South Africa and someone he is a fan of. The latest song and craze in Ghana now is "Akwaaba",a song produced by Guilty Beatz on which he featured Mr Eazi,Pappy Kojo and the one corner crooner "Patapaa". The very funky song has made its way to the USA and was danced to by Dallas Maverick dancers at an NBA game recently. It's not sure if the game was against Utah Jazz which happens to be Dallas Mavericks' last game. Below is the video;

Sarkodie was at the Trade Fair centre to perform at Ebony's Tribute Concert. Midway true to his performance,he told the gathering that he had recorded a song with  Ebony which was yet to be released. Truth be told,it's a very good song and when released is likely to  go places.

Few minutes ago,Manifest tweeted Sarkodie's new song titled "Wake up call" which is a road safety campaign song to drum home the need for us all to be cautious as drivers and pedestrians alike. The tweet wouldn't have been news if not for the fierce lyrical battle that ensued between the two in 2016 which got several tongues wagging. Below is the tweet;

Joey B,speaking on Hitz FM concerning the topic of music sampling said he really likes Ofori Amponsah music explaining why he sampled his songs for his hits "otoolege" and "sweetie pie" ft King Promise. He went further to state that he was star-struck when he met Ofori Amponsah face-to-face but same couldn't be said when he met Jay Z at Roc Nation in the US.

Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kofi Mann, popularly known in music circles as CK Mann, has passed away. His death which occurred at the GHAPOHA hospital in Takoradi at about 7 am on Tuesday, 20th March 2018, was announced by his son Albert Ato Mann to Citi News’ Obrempong Yaw Ampofo. The music legend has been battling some medical conditions in recent times. The ailment is said to have intensified since last December. He was 83. CK Mann is the producer of great highlife songs such as ‘Adwoa Yankey,’ ‘Mber Papa,’ ‘Medo Wo,’ ‘Araba Lucy,’ ‘Wode a Ne Me,’ among others. Over the weekend,Shatta Wale was honoured by IRAWMA (International Reggae And World Music Awards) at their 2018 awards in Chicago in the United States of America. The "freedom" hitmaker was adjudged best African song/entertainer at this year's awards show and his contribution to reggae music in Ghana and globally.

As earlier stated on this blog,a tribute concert will be held in honour of the slain Ebony Reigns at the Trade Fair centre on 23rd March. Considering the speeches by some musicians at her one week where they called others hypocrites(not to say they are the ones demanding cash before performing) , it therefore comes as surprise to us that some musicians will be demanding for money from organisers before performing at such a concert. Not to remind family,friends and fans of their woes but management of Ebony,who died through a gory accident last month will have a  tribute concert in her honour. The African Music Industry Awards is here to award and honour hardworking African Creative Content Producers (Musicians, Producers et al). Rumours have been rife that Asamoah Gyan would bail Stonebwoy out from Zylofon Media and sign him on. Manager of Asamoah Gyan,Samuel Anim-Addo in a precise statement has moved to clear the air on the rumours making rounds.Below is the statement;
