TV3 is official VGMAs 2018 media partner

Media-General,the umbrella body that houses TV3,3FM,Connect FM,Onua FM and 3news.com has signed a memorandum of understanding with Charter House,the organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This understanding makes TV3,the official partner for the this year's VGMAs and gives it unfettered access to the VGMAs like never before. This partnership was announced Midday News on TV3 a few minutes ago. Group CEO of Media General,Pearl Esua-Mensah and CEO of Charter House,Theresa Ayoade put pen to paper live on air to seal the deal. Pearl Esua-Mensah before signing the deal said the partnership was part of TV3's effort to promote more local content on air and that the partnership will bring to its viewers of a whole new coverage of the VGMAs. Theresa Ayoade also said viewers will get to experience 360 experience of this year's VGMAs exclusively on TV3 starting from the announcement of nominees to the post awards jam. Stonebwoy To Exit Zylofon Media?

The rumour mill has it that Stonebwoy is unhappy that his "rival" Shatta Wale has been signed to the same record label he belongs. Reasons could be that Shatta Wale was signed without his knowledge or he doesn't feel comfortable being on the same record label with a supposed "rival" or he is angered with the news making rounds that Shatta Wale was signed because the the the signed acts before Shatta Wale weren't giving Zylofon Music the necessary mileage. Date For Funeral Of The Late Ebony Reigns Announced

The family of the late Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng popularly known as Ebony has announced that the funeral of their fallen beloved will be on the 17th of March in Accra. This was made known at the one-week celebration of Ebony held at Saint Martin De Porres in Dansoman today. The unfortunate demise of Ebony happened on Thursday,8th February,2018 when the car she was in with three people  collided with a VIP bus.

Ghana Ranked 52nd Best Democracy In The World Making It A "Flawed Democracy"

The Economist Intelligence Unit has ranked Ghana as the 52nd best democracy in the world according to their democracy index released this week.This also makes Ghana the 5th best democracy in Africa. Norway and Mauritius(16th in the world) have the best democracies in the world and Africa respectively. The criteria used by EIU are electoral process and pluralism, functioning of Government,political participation,civil liberties and politics of culture.

The hostess of Live from the Capital on Live 91.9FM was nominated in the ‘Woman in Media’ category. The 7th edition of the annual awards themed ‘The Royal Edition’ is scheduled on Saturday May 19, 2018 in Kensington, London. Speaking with Kasapafmonline.com, Vanessa Gyan expressed excitement about her nomination being the only Ghanaian given the recognition. “This is my first nomination ever and it means a lot because of the global recognition, not just of Vanessa Gyan but my efforts in The Sincerely, Vee Show and The Sincerely, Vee Foundation. Sad News:Super OD is dead

Super OD,the veteran Ghanaian actor died  early this morning. His son,Simon confirmed the news some few minutes ago on Hitz FM while speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz. Super OD was eighty-four years old at the time of his demise. Rest in Peace,Super OD and commiserations to his family and friends.

Akon Wanted To Sign Ebony Badly-Bullet

Bullet,the manager of the late Ebony Reigns made this revelation in an interview with host Abeiku Santana on Ekwansodwodwo on Okay FM that he received an email indicating that musician and CEO of Konvict Music wanted to sign Ebony with huge sums of money. Other interesting revelations made on the show was that Ruff Town records didn't know that the late Frankie was Ebony's personal assistant as purported and Atsu Vondee was her official bodyguard as purported. Ebony's one week will be held on Sunday,18th February at St.Martin De Porres in Dansoman.

Zylofon Boss Clears Air On "Controversial" Ebony Tweet

Nana Appiah Mensah,CEO of Zylofon Media tweeted something "controversial" which got a lot of backlash on social media. After realising the backlash,he came back with another tweet to clarify what he had earlier tweeted and further announced he would be on his own radio station, Zylofon FM to further speak to matter. True to his tweet,he was on radio and was hosted by Sammy Baah aka Sammy Flex on Showbiz Agenda where he did clarify the issue above. According to him,his tweet was a tribute to Ebony because tributes are mostly based on the last encounters one had with the deceased. Nana Appiah Mensah also claimed that he was supposed to pay 100,000 dollars to Bullet in order to "bail her out",that is,to get her signed to his Zylofon Media. He also said that the main point in the tweet was to bring some more attention on female artistes hence the capitalisation of "CRITICAL ATTENTION",a kind of affirmative action. 1.5 Billion People Use Whatsapp Monthly

Facebook’s $19 billion acquisition of WhatsApp sounds smarter and smarter. CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on the Q4 2017 earnings call yesterday that WhatsApp now has 1.5 billion users and sees 60 billion messages sent per day. That’s compared to 1.3 billion monthly users and 1 billion daily active users in July. The massive growth makes Facebook’s choice to pay more than $19 billion to acquire WhatsApp look prescient. At the time in 2014, WhatsApp had just 450 million monthly active users and 315 million daily active users. In a slight to Snapchat, Zuckerberg also noted that Instagram and WhatsApp are the No. 1 and No. 2 most popular Story-sharing products, referring to those apps’ clones of Snapchat Stories. Each now each has 300 million daily active users, compared to 178 million on Snapchat as a whole.
