WHO YOU SERVE By Mcray
The new craze in town now when it comes to gospel music is something referred to as "urban gospel" or "contemporary gospel" which does not necessarily sound like the gospel we have been used to by the likes of Elder Mireku,Kwaku Gyasi,Christiana Love now turn Obaapa Christy,Tagoe Sisters,Daughters of Glorious Jesus and Ohemaa Mercy just to mention but a few.
Nowadays, the gospel sounds more like hiphop or even hiplife, the difference obviously being the lyrics which normally depict God's goodness and mercies and an appreciation of such goodness and mercies. The trailblazers of this style in Ghana are Cwesi Oteng(where is he though),Preachers,Regardless,Kingzkid,Jay Shady and others I can not mention if this piece has to completed.
Mcray is one of several interesting and talented additions to the growing list of urban gospel musicians who are doing great with their music. The gospel rapper whom I think draws inspiration from Lecrae brings us a new single titled "who you serve" scheduled to drop today 6th September,a single from an E.P he has titled "ChurchBoiEP" and in the words of Vanessa Gyan, the juice on the single will be available here for your hearing pleasure.
Below are the words of Mcray himself verbatim concerning the single and I quote
"One of Ghana's Urban Gospel Rap Act decides to go very emotional on his new tune entitled WHO YOU SERVE.Highlighting the exact words that always came out of the mouth of my haters.I challenged them and proved them that I serve a living KING who gives life to the dead.Full of motivational lyrics and intense advice to all believers and every man alive,WHO YOU SERVE by Mcray produced by Scooby Melody".
