Ghanaian dancehall artiste,Jupitar has apologized for his very harsh words he used to describe the VGMA board when he wasn't nominated for this year's VGMAs. He unfortunately used words like "idiots" and "hypocrites" to describe them and this was very surprising to many because he doesn't have any past record of such behaviour. He took to the same platform,twitter yesterday to render an apology to the VGMAs board.

Eloquent media practitioner and public speaker, Anita Erskine was interviewed on the Midmorning Show on YFM yesterday by Trigmatic. In her response to the question if she had political ambitions,she said she wanted to be President of Ghana one day,not necessarily as the the female President though.She didn't mention on which political party ticket she would be on too. Ghana’s Wiyaala will perform with all female international group GRRRL on the Main Stage at the 2018 Commonwealth Games at The Gold Coast in Australia on the 15 th  April. The "one corner" song and craze which made its way to Nigeria and even into the diaspora basically among Ghanaians has been banned from the big brother Naija house for reasons yet to be ascertained. It could be as a result of the excessive "misbehaviour" on display anytime the song was played at the Saturday night parties in the house. Deejay Neptune was in the house to play this weekend and he confirmed the ban on Twitter when a follower asked him why he didn't play "one corner".

The 2018 VGMAs nominations list were announced on the Saturday,3rd March as earlier advertised. Majority of the nominations were announced on Media-General platforms with artiste of the year,song of the year and album of the year announced at a nominations announcement party at the Movënpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. After several years of back and forth between Shatta Wale and Theresa Ayoade/Charter House,the impasse has been finally settled and Shatta Wale is eligible for nominations in this year's awards. In fact,he grabbed a nomination just some few minutes ago in the first batch of nominations released on Media-General platforms comprising TV3,3FM,Connect FM,Onua FM and 3news.com. His song " Ayoo" was nominated in the hiplife song of the year category. This was captured in TV3's tweet announcing nominations below:

Nominations for this year's VGMAs will be announced on Saturday,3rd March on Media-General platforms every hour starting from 11am to 4pm. A nomination party will take place later on the day to formally announce other nominations that won't be catered for from 11am to 4pm. Media-General comprises TV3,3FM,Connect FM,Onua FM,3news.com. However,YFM which is under Global Media Alliance will have also announce the nominations. 

The family has announced the venue for the funeral rites of Ebony and it's none other than the independence square considering the crowd that was seen at the one-week memorial. The funeral rites will be held on the March 17,2018. Ebony's demise occured on Thursday,8th February when the car she was in with three people collided with a VIP bus on the Sunyani to Accra road.

Media-General,the umbrella body that houses TV3,3FM,Connect FM,Onua FM and 3news.com has signed a memorandum of understanding with Charter House,the organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This understanding makes TV3,the official partner for the this year's VGMAs and gives it unfettered access to the VGMAs like never before. This partnership was announced Midday News on TV3 a few minutes ago. Group CEO of Media General,Pearl Esua-Mensah and CEO of Charter House,Theresa Ayoade put pen to paper live on air to seal the deal. Pearl Esua-Mensah before signing the deal said the partnership was part of TV3's effort to promote more local content on air and that the partnership will bring to its viewers of a whole new coverage of the VGMAs. The rumour mill has it that Stonebwoy is unhappy that his "rival" Shatta Wale has been signed to the same record label he belongs. Reasons could be that Shatta Wale was signed without his knowledge or he doesn't feel comfortable being on the same record label with a supposed "rival" or he is angered with the news making rounds that Shatta Wale was signed because the the the signed acts before Shatta Wale weren't giving Zylofon Music the necessary mileage. The family of the late Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng popularly known as Ebony has announced that the funeral of their fallen beloved will be on the 17th of March in Accra. This was made known at the one-week celebration of Ebony held at Saint Martin De Porres in Dansoman today. The unfortunate demise of Ebony happened on Thursday,8th February,2018 when the car she was in with three people  collided with a VIP bus.

The Economist Intelligence Unit has ranked Ghana as the 52nd best democracy in the world according to their democracy index released this week.This also makes Ghana the 5th best democracy in Africa. Norway and Mauritius(16th in the world) have the best democracies in the world and Africa respectively. The criteria used by EIU are electoral process and pluralism, functioning of Government,political participation,civil liberties and politics of culture.
